Amazing Layering Guest Post from GlittaGloves!!
•Posted on October 11 2012
I've been so honoured to have so many amazing guest posts this week!! Today I have Kirsten of GlittaGloves, who I consider a friend and who has been a huge supporter of Harlow & Co. since we started just under a year ago - I can't thank her enough for all the swatching I make her do for me, she is kind of a big deal when it comes to layering too btw!! I think I became obsessed with the glitter/jelly sandwich mani because of her!!! Enough of my fangirl-ing, onto the gorgeous layering Kirsten has in store for you today folks!!

Hello lacquered lovelies! I'm Kirsten and I run a blog called Glitta Gloves. :) What a lovely day it is, to have a guest post up for one of my favourite people that I've had the pleasure of meeting through blogging! :) Katie is such a sweetie and I was so honoured when she asked me if I would consider guest posting for the Harlow & Co. blog - I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to get around to it!
For my post I decided to use only products that you can purchase from Katie. :) I started out with two coats of Barry M Racing Green, which is just a beautiful polish. It's one of my favourite types of greens - vampy and shimmery and gorgeousness everywhere. The first coat makes it seem much more blue than it looks in the bottle but with the second coat, you really get the beautiful green coming through.
Then I got to work on using layering polishes. I chose two that had clear bases because I didn't want to hide the gorgeousness of Racing Green. After RG had dried, I applied one coat of piCture pOlish Mask-a-rade (which is basically all of the sexy Ozotic Elytra polishes crammed into one - loveeee), a coat of Ozotic Beam 907, and then followed that up with another coat of Mask-a-rade. I layered in that order because the Beam polishes are quite dense - I ended up taking most of the polish off my brush before I actually applied it to my nail, and I liked the depth that putting Mask-a-rade on either side gave to it. So, enough talking, more pictures? I included some sunlight photos but it's in the shade that manicures like this really shine, so there will be more of those!
Ahhh. I love a good layering, especially when it involves green!
What do you lovelies think? Do you own any of these pretties? You definitely should - I use Mask-a-rade a lot especially, I love how different it looks depending on the base colour. :)

Like I said, in the shade is where I thought this combo looked best, so...
