I am one of those baking people. I’m down to make a berry crumble or a chocolate cake, but where my heart truly lies is with cookie trays. I do admit, I sometimes go a bit overboard—dozens of cookies lining the tables, waiting to be packed into colorful tins and boxes to share with friends and family. Sweet shortbreads, tart lemon, spicy gingerbread, and sugar cookies glistening with sanding sugar fill the house with holiday cheer. Each year I say I’ll cut back, but then I find a new recipe, and more baking just ends up happening.

Bake Stuff Happen is a shimmering, shifty reflective nail polish inspired by colorful sanding sugar. A cool, grape-leaning purple base sets off a shifting shimmer with a near-aqua, minty flash. As you flip your wrist, tones of purple and pink shine through, with some angles even revealing hints of blue. In bright light, purple reflective glitter catches and flashes brilliantly. Two coats plus a layer of Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top are recommended for a glass-like finish.
